Woman Jailed for Seven Years for Throwing Acid Wants Sentence Reduced

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 66-year-old woman jailed for seven years for throwing acid in the face of her husband’s mistress has appealed the sentence, saying it’s too harsh.

Pandora McKenzie received the maximum sentence following a conviction of causing dangerous harm in 2024.

McKenzie reportedly lured her love-rival to a meeting spot and threw acid on the unsuspecting woman, causing injuries to her eyes.

The appellate court has reserved a decision on whether the sentence will be reduced due to McKenzie’ previously clean criminal record.
