NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Ministry of Works is increasing their assets by purchasing new equipment.

The equipment will be used to assist with road repair and flooding issues in new providence and the Family Islands.

That’s Senior Drainage Engineer at the Ministry of Works Henry Moxey giving us a first-hand view of the new equipment valued at some $3,200.

Officials say the new equipment seeks to mitigate the issue of flooding.

He says they’ve recently installed them in several communities.

Moxey adds this will also keep water levels from rising in homes.
