NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With two new bridges on the way for Andros, the company tasked with the design and construction BRON Limited says one important aspect was maintaining the environment.

As BRON Limited moves full steam ahead now with the design for two new bridges in Andros, officials tell us they’ve been paying close attention to the environment.

Association Principal of Program and Business Development Kelli Ashley Armstrong says the plan is to raise the height of the bridge to allow for large fishing vessels to pass under.

She says residents have expressed concern, specifically about the dredging.

The area is home to a sandbank as well that’s naturally curvy which has been a challenge for vessels traveling under the bride.

BRON Limited is also conducting a climate risk and vulnerability analysis for the projects that will include diving into climate and weather data for Andros.
