BEIJING, CHINA – Beijing is preparing for a massive military parade, marking 80 years since Japan’s World War II surrender.

President Xi Jinping is reportedly using the event to showcase China’s growing power, with foreign leaders including Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un attending.

Officials say tanks, troops, and new weapons will be on display, while elaborate floral arrangements and state media campaigns highlight China’s historic victory.

The parade also sends a domestic message, promoting patriotism as the country faces a slowing economy and youth discontent.

Security is tight, roads, school, and businesses near Tiananmen Square are closed, drones are banned,  and city life has been disrupted to ensure a flawless show of strength.
