NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Artificial intelligence will help the Water and Sewerage Corporation detect leakages and improve the rate in which the corporation can address those issues.

General Manager Robert Deal made the announcement Thursday afternoon that the devices will be deployed throughout their distribution system in conjunction with their New Providence non-revenue water contractor, Miya Bahamas Limited.

Lead manager for Miya Bahamas Rohan Thomas explained how the device, once placed, will locate and validate leak noises. He says though small, the devices are very expensive and it is important that the public not tamper with them.

Now, if you believe there is a leak within your community, you are encouraged to reach out to the corporation and a device can be deployed. Thomas also emphasized that the artificial intelligence device will not replace human efforts.

And as to how much the devices will save the corporation?
