EXUMA , THE BAHAMAS – Yntegra founder, Felipe MacLean is continuing to make a case for the multi-million dollar Rosewood Project in Exuma. The setting was a packed town hall meeting that was held in Moss town. Our Sasha Lightbourne was there, and she filed this report.

“Projects like this do not begin with drawings plan and renderings; they begin with people, place and purpose; during covid period my family and I visited Exuma on vacation with our four children and like many families at that time we were looking for a space with nature and room to breathe”

That was Yntegra founder and CEO Felipe Maclean sharing how the Yntegra Rosewood development came to be.

Maclean was speaking with hundreds of residents who gathered for a town hall meeting at the L.N. Coakley high school in Moss Town, Exuma.

It’s also where residents got to learn more about the more than $200 million Rosewood Exuma project on East Sampson Cay, which broke ground last September. To express any concerns they have, the resort is set to have 33 bungalows, 40 residences and a range of amenities.

“This gives a total of 73 units on the 124 acres which means almost two acres per unit one of the smallest densities of any high end resort in The Bahamas; let me repeat that one of the smallest densities of any high end resort in The Bahamas; this is intentionally scaled to remain exclusive low impact and environmentally responsible”)

Complete transparency is what Maclean says Yntegra is committed to.

“Development must be responsible, community centered and focused on residents; Rosewood Exuma and related projects are part of a long term commitment to leaving a positive legacy that extends far beyond the property line; we have a commitment in transparency; we understand new developments bring questions, questions about the environment, questions about culture, questions about whether commitments will be kept those are fair questions”

MacLean wasn’t the only one who spoke at that town hall, residents also voicing their concerns. One of the biggest concerns was the dredging in the North Bay channel.
