“Your Legacy is Not Only Found in the Music You Played, but in the Lives You Changed”

NASSAU , BAHAMAS – “Now family and friends are gathered here today to say their final goodbyes to one of the victims of that tragic Independence Day plane crash, Rashard Storr.”

The atmosphere inside the church was filled with both tears and gratitude as those who knew Rashard Storr reflected on a life that touched so many.

He was remembered not only as a talented musician, but as a man of faith, a friend, a mentor, and someone who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. One by one, loved ones shared stories of his kindness, his humility, and the legacy he leaves behind.

“Shard would counsel me. Shard would pray for me. So, today, I am humble for this opportunity to speak on his behalf.”

Those words painted the picture of a man who quietly poured into the lives of others. For his Da Pond Band family, the loss remains almost too painful to put into words. Fighting through tears, fellow band member Shaniese Miller paid an emotional tribute to the man they affectionately called “The Great Rashad.”

“Rashad, thank you for every laugh, every helping hand, every rehearsal, every performance, and every memory. Your legacy is not only found in the music you played, but in the lives you changed by simply being yourself. You earned the name The Great Rashad because of your heart. Rest peacefully, our brother, our friend, and our bandmate. You will always be remembered. You will always be loved. And on behalf of Da Pond Band, thank you for everything. May God grant you eternal rest.”

Storr’s impact stretched far beyond the music scene. At Western Air, where he worked, his colleagues say his absence has left an irreplaceable void. General Manager Ricardo Wilson recounted the heartbreak of learning Storr was among those on board the doomed flight.

“I recall that fateful day when his employees, whom he shared a good relationship with, they all became frantic trying to call his phone in hopes that he wasn’t one of those persons on that aircraft. But sadly, he was.”

As hymns filled the sanctuary and loved ones shared their final embraces, one message echoed throughout the service: Rashard Storr may be gone, but his music, his compassion, and the lives he touched will continue to live on.
