DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Authorities in the Dominican Republic pulled off one of their biggest drug busts ever, chasing a boat for more than 12 hours before seizing 1.5 tons of cocaine.

Auhtorities report that the high-stakes pursuit involved helicopters, boats, and ground teams, ending with the arrest of three Dominicans and a Colombian off the country’s southern coast.

Officials say the country remains a key trafficking hub for cocaine heading to Europe, with more than 46 tons of drugs seized last year alone.
