NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is facing charges after prosecutors say he struck a woman in the face last month.

Prosecutors say Phillip McPhee Jr caused harm to Leah Knowles, an employee at the Office of the Prime Minister, on March 17.

McPhee denied the allegation at his arraignment before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.

He was granted $1,500 bail and ordered to have no contact with Knowles as a condition of his release.

His trial is set for June 3.
