NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Meet 11-year-old Jehlani Major, an avid percussionist and Bahamian music lover.

A video of her playing the saw with Curbside Rockerz went viral on social media, particularly TikTok.

She’s so good at it that she sounds like she’s been doing it for years but that’s not all, Jehlani is also an avid drummer.

She tells me she fell in love with the classic tum tum.

Jehlani is not new to the spotlight. The 11-year-old has performed on various platforms nationally, along with private performances and recently, she opened the Goombay Festival.

And when she’s not attending classes at Anatol Rodgers Senior High School, she spends her free time with her mother at the Graycliff Hotel and restaurant playing for tourists.

But it’s far from a job, it’s also a labour of love.
