NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man who admitted that he can’t control his urges to molest young boys has been jailed for 13 years.

58-year-old Dwight Belle, who’s a repeat offender, will be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Registry upon his release from prison.

On September 7, 2024, Belle lured a nine-year-old boy into his Wellington Street home and raped him.

After the sexual assault, he gave the boy $2 and a bag of chips and told him not to tell anyone.

Belle re-offended shortly after spending nine years and five months in prison for molesting a five-year-old boy.

Justice Jeanine Weech-Gomez found that a sentence of 15 years in prison was appropriate.

The sentence was reduced to 13 years because belle pleaded guilty, sparing his victim from having to relive the incident at a trial.

Prosecutors had sought a 20-year sentence while his lawyer asked for half of that.
