COLOMBIA – The U.S. military has carried out its deadliest day yet in its escalating campaign against drug trafficking in the eastern Pacific, killing 14 people in a series of strikes on four boats off the coast of Colombia.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the attacks, saying the vessels were known to be moving along narco-trafficking routes.

The strikes left one survivor.

But the operation has drawn sharp criticism from Mexico and Colombia, who say the Trump administration’s actions violate international law and risk destabilizing the region.

The Pentagon says the campaign will continue. The strikes bring the total death toll from the two-month operation to at least 57 people.
