18-Year-Old Dean Wins Don’t Blink Home Run Derby

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Miami Marlins prospect, 18-year-old Breiyas Dean outdueled Cincinnati Reds outfielder Will Benson to win the Don’t Blink Home Run Derby at Montagu Beach on Saturday afternoon.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Miami Marlins prospect, 18-year-old Breiyas Dean outdueled Cincinnati reds outfielder Will Benson to win the Don’t Blink Home Run Derby at Montagu Beach on Saturday afternoon.

The young third baseman, who just came off his first year in the team’s system in the Dominican Republic, led the field in the first and second rounds before he advanced to the finals.

Dean fell behind early to Benson before winning the derby in dramatic fashion on the last swing.

The young phenom said he overcame nerves to get the win.

Event organizer Todd Isaacs Jr. was happy to celebrate Bahamian baseball.

Hield, The Pacers Fall In The In-season Final

Buddy Hield and the Indiana Pacers fell to the LA lakers in the NBA in-season tournament on Saturday night.

Buddy had 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists as they fell 123-109 to Lebron James and the Lakers in the first-ever play-in final.

Buddy had a rough night from the field going 3-11 and 2-9 from beyond the arc. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 20 points and 11 assists.

Lakers big man Anthony Davis had his absolute way in the paint, going for 41 points and 20 rebounds and Lebron James had 24 points and 11 rebounds. They’ll try to get back in the win column against the Detroit Pistons tonight.

The Pistons have lost 19 straight so they’re about as sure of a win as it gets right now in the NBA.
