NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 23-year-old babysitter has been unanimously acquitted of child sex crimes.

Prosecutors alleged that Afream Brown had unlawful sexual intercourse with an eight-year-old girl while he was babysitting her at her grandmother’s home in New Providence in February 2022.

Brown exercised his right to remain silent and call no witnesses at his trial before acting justice Roberto Reckley.

His lawyers Cassie Bethell and Tamika Roberts, suggested that the child was molested by someone else.

The child’s mother alleged that she noticed that her daughter’s underwear was soiled with blood days after the alleged assault.
