NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The questions keep coming over who paid for the Prime Minister and delegation trip to Bermuda, after a copy of a $24,000 reimbursement check was published by the Progressive Liberal Party.

Now there are claims that figure is not the full price.

Less than 24-hours after the PLP released a copy of a First Caribbean International Bank check amounting to $24,750, payable to the Office of the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister made an admission of his own.

The check accompanied a receipt dated October 21, the day after the delegation returned from Bermuda.

Opposition Leader Michael Pintard charged it was illegal.

Prime Minister Davis addressing the controversy over his trip.

Following the Bermuda trip where he addressed a political convention, the Prime Minister said while OPM paid for the trip, he will reimburse the Public Treasury for his travel expenses.

While in Bermuda, Davis spoke during a Progressive Labour Party convention in Bermuda, but according to the PM, he was invited earlier last year.

Davis also told parliament the decision to charter Western Air at a reasonable price happened days before the trip.

If he had not, he said he would have to spend a night in New York on each leg of the trip.

While he went as PM, he said Bermuda’s premier also invited the Progressive Liberal Party to attend the event.

Davis says left instructions for the funds to be repaid after the trip.
