3,200 Mangroves Planted in GB

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – In 2019, Hurricane Dorian had a devastating impact on mangroves in the northern Bahamas.

Since then, there has been a push for restore the vital ecosystem. The latest initiative happening in McLean’s Town, Grand Bahama where 3,200 mangroves were planted on Earth Day.

Taking part in the event was the Forestry Unit, Water Keepers Bahamas and the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust.

Included in the scores of volunteers were students, teachers and school officials who say they were happy to be a part of making a positive contribution to the environment.
