NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Basketball Federation has partnered with FIBA and the Olympic Solidarity Program to help educate players, coaches, and referees from across the region.

The four-day event opened with coaching and referee clinics, along with development workshops designed to strengthen the growth of 3×3 basketball throughout the Caribbean.

Competition began indoors at the D.W. Davis Gymnasium.

On the women’s side, the Bahamas team of Mya Henfield, Michelle Butler, Daranique Mackey, and Jada Francis finished third overall. They opened with a 14–11 win over Trinidad and Tobago before falling to Haiti in overtime, 16–14.

The men’s team, featuring Keithwood Stubbs, Davito McIntosh, Leo Johnson, and Stevach Jacquex, finished second overall. They edged Trinidad and Tobago 18–16 in overtime, defeated Jamaica 22–15, and fell 19–11 to Haiti in the final.

All games count toward players’ individual national and international 3×3 rankings. The final session of the U23 tournament will take place Saturday at the National Beach Soccer Arena.

Rolle-Harris Named Director of Golf

One of the Bahamas’ most accomplished golf professionals, Georgette Rolle-Harris, has been named Director of Golf at the Baha Mar Royal Blue Golf Course.

A former LPGA Class A professional and Futures Tour competitor, Rolle-Harris joined Royal Blue Golf Club in 2017. Over the past seven years, she has led club operations and played a major role in mentoring junior golf programs throughout the Bahamas.

She has also championed expanded access and high-level development opportunities for Bahamian youth, helping shape the future of the sport locally.

Top Plays

It’s Friday and holiday traffic is already building, but we’re easing the stress with today’s Top Plays.

At number five, Chris DeMarco continues his rise up the coaching ladder, transitioning from leading the men’s national team to now guiding the best on the women’s side.

At four, they may be national team teammates, but defense came first as DA made sure VJ didn’t get any easy buckets.

At three, rain couldn’t slow things down. Chavez Young ripped an RBI triple to spark a Bahamas rally, only for the umpires to postpone the game before the moment could fully unfold.

At two, this standout is still in college and now earns a chance to showcase his speed at the World Indoor Championships.

And at number one, in the first ever U23 men’s game on home soil, Stevens Jacquex sealed the win for the Bahamas with a game-winning overtime bucket.
