NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Traffic police are investigating a fatality that claimed the life of a 52-year-old man, Tuesday night.

Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings telling media on the scene that the incident involved a white SUV, driven by a visibly distraught female, and a male pedestrian who police believe was crossing the street when he was fatally struck.

Relatives on scene were visibly shaken up. They identified the victim as 52-year-old Doyle Ferguson.

Chief Supt. Skippings says as law enforcement continues their investigations, it was also important to show compassion to the family.

Skippings could not confirm whether speed was a factor, but she is encouraging motorists to adhere to all rules of the road.
