NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Thirty-nine kilos of suspected cocaine landing 21 people in police custody.

According to police, officers of the Police Marine Unit were on patrol and acting on information, when they intercepted a 30ft cutty cabin vessel in waters off Saunders Beach shortly after 10pm Tuesday.

Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander says officers found the illegal migrants as well as Bahamians on board the Bahamian registered vessel.

Those drugs have an estimated street value of $750,000 dollars and was a result of a joint effort between the Police Marine Unit, the DEA, OPBAT and the K-9 Unit.

Fernander says everyone is in police custody.
