Guyana Condemns Enactment Of Law Regarding Disputed Territory

GUYANA – Guyana has condemned Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro’s enactment of a law to incorporate the disputed Guayana Esequiba region into Venezuela. Maduro signed the law after a controversial referendum.

In response, Guyana is accusing Maduro of breaking international law and personal attacks against president Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

The Guyanese government emphasized the need for dialogue and adherence to international agreements. It asserts that Venezuela must resolve the dispute through the international court of justice and calls for restraint to prevent further escalation.
