INDIA – Investigators have recovered the cockpit voice recorder from the deadly Air India crash. It’s a crucial step in determining what caused the tragedy.

The flight data recorder, which tracks key flight metrics, has also been recovered.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, killing at least 270 people, most of them are passengers.

Authorities are still working to determine how many people died on the ground.

India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is leading the probe, with support from the U.S. and U.K.
