NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The countdown to the biggest parades of the season has begun, and for Junkanoo fans, securing tickets is as exhilarating as the parade itself. Tickets went on sale through Aliv this afternoon, and fans were quick to secure their seats.
Raymond Wright – Digital and Emerging Products Director, Aliv
“It was a good crowd. I think that this year a lot of people were a little bit more comfortable. When I came on the line, a lot of people said, ‘Hey, I have the app. I’m just ready to get my tickets.’”
Wright noted the smoother process this year and encouraged hopeful buyers not to lose hope if their preferred tickets seemed unavailable.
Dwayne Davis – CIO, Aliv
“Right now, you can buy a maximum of 10 tickets online. As you know, with most purchases, if you select tickets and don’t pay for them within a certain period of time, they’re going to be released. If you go there and don’t see tickets, refresh the page—they might become available.”
Janice Stuart Rolle, visiting from Exuma, decided to take advantage of her trip to Nassau to secure Bay Street seats.

“I know how wild it can be. Just going online and seeing what’s available. Apparently, persons are already purchasing, so the tickets right now, as it stands, they are limited.”
She added that experiencing Junkanoo in person is an entirely different thrill.
“Well, you get to see things firsthand rather than watching. I mean, you have a better view on TV, but in person, you really get to feel that music, you know?”
Sean Lewis was also eager to secure his preferred spot.

“Every year, I like my Rawson Square or round the Parliament Street area, and it seems like they get grabbed right away. Now that I’m here early, I want to make sure I get my Rawson Square, or Scotia Bank or Parliament Street.”
Another resident shared their seamless ticket-purchasing experience.

“It took me about 8 minutes to log in, select a seat, and purchase my tickets.”
“I’ll be in Rawson Square, Southside, and I’m looking forward to Genesis to hit Bay.”
For Grand Bahama native Vanrico Hanna, attending Junkanoo is a tradition he never misses.
Vanrico Hanna – Resident
“Listen, listen, listen—I had to be here. I was almost first in the line, but I was here from early this morning. I’m a musician, and when I hear Junkanoo? Listen to me, I got to be there, and I got to be on Rawson Square. Last year, tickets sold out in no time!”
Hanna left ecstatic after securing his tickets.
“I is a happy man, and I know my wife is going to be happy because, guess what? I got tickets for Boxing Day and New Year’s.”
