NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An all-woman jury unanimously acquitted a man accused of burglary and rape.

Garrett Thompson Jr, also known as GJ, was accused of breaking into a home in Cargill Creek, Andros on November 18, 2022 and raping a 27-year-old woman.

Thompson denied the charges at his trial before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns.

The woman said that woke up to find Thompson on top of her.

The woman said that she had known the accused all her life.

Nathan Smith represented Thompson.

Betty Wilson and Kristin Butler-Beneby were the prosecutors.
