Another Night, Another Walcott Homer

UNITED STATES – As unbelievable as it sounds, Sebastian Walcott has hit another home run.

The Bahamian top prospect launched a two-run shot in the third inning Tuesday night for the Frisco RoughRiders, providing both of his team’s runs in an 8-2 loss to Wichita.

That makes six home runs for Walcott in his last eight games, and nine since joining Double-A Frisco this season.

Walcott has been on an absolute tear since returning to the Frisco lineup in July following elbow surgery.

Over the past week, he hit .381 with three home runs, four RBI, and an .857 slugging percentage, earning a spot on Baseball America’s Hot Sheet of the minors’ top performers.

The Rangers’ number-one prospect is finishing the season with a serious power surge as one of the best hitters in the minor leagues.

Basketball

Bahamian basketball star Tavario Miller is a champion in Mexico.

Miller and the Mineros de Zacatecas captured the 2026 Copa Value Sunday night, defeating the Astros de Jalisco 87-71 in front of their home crowd.

And Miller was right in the middle of the historic performance.

The Bahamian center scored 10 points in the first quarter, helping Mineros take an early 25-18 lead.

He finished the championship game with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Mineros controlled the game from the start, taking a seven-point lead into halftime before exploding in the third quarter, outscoring Jalisco 28-15 to take a 20-point advantage.

The 87-71 victory gave Mineros its first championship in franchise history and made Zacatecas the first host team to win the Copa Value.

For Miller, it’s another major professional accomplishment in a career that has seen him play at a high level across the Americas.

MLB

Jazz Chisholm Jr. continued to contribute for the New York Yankees, going 2-for-4 in their 5-3 win over the Colorado Rockies Tuesday night.

Chisholm started at second base and batted sixth in a lineup that featured the return of three-time American League MVP Aaron Judge, who was back in action for the first time since May 31.

He collected two of New York’s 10 hits as the Yankees moved to 81-62 and clinched their 34th consecutive winning season.

But there was a late concern for the Bahamian.

Chisholm jammed his right thumb while diving headfirst into second base in the eighth inning and was removed from the game before the ninth.

Despite the injury, Jazz’s two-hit night adds to a season in which he has provided the Yankees with his usual mix of power, speed, and athleticism.

New York now continues its push in the American League East with just a handful of games remaining.
