NASSAU, BAHAMAS -In a dramatic turn of events, Atlantis Resort has backed down, clearing the way for Aetos Holdings to move forward with its highly anticipated Wendy’s location on Paradise Island.

The decision comes after months of legal wrangling and heated debate over land use and business competition.

Aetos Holdings Chairman Christopher Tsavoussis says the breakthrough came after a crucial meeting with Atlantis’ CEO.

Last July, the Subdivision and Development Appeals Board dismissed the appeal by Atlantis and other major resorts, ruling the Wendy’s location “does not offend” land use restrictions on Paradise Island.

The decision also rejected concerns about traffic impact and land use compatibility.

Tsavoussis says the company is now focused on finalizing plans and hopes to begin operations early next year.

The popular franchise is to employ some 150 employees upon completion.

Meanwhile, Atlantis remains silent on the decision, offering no explanation for withdrawing its claim or plans to challenge the verdict.
