NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Lynden Pindling International Airport experiencing some challenges this morning as some air traffic controllers didn’t show up to work.

Our News understands the matter resulted in a nearly two-hour delay for one international Bahamasair flight.

We can also tell you today’s action stems from security search issues at the airport that have been a longstanding problem for air traffic controllers.

Speaking to the issue, Aviation Director Kenneth Romer says the matter was resolved around 8am.

Dr. Romer says a meeting was proposed for Wednesday morning to address the issue.

He also says a stakeholders group has also been formed.

According to the Romer, a previous challenge is lack of communication.
