BAARK Raising Money By Teeing Up

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A local NGO needs your help. Bahamas Alliance for Animal Rights and Kindness, also known as BAARK, gearing up to host its second annual golf tournament in hopes of raising thousands of dollars to aid in the daily operations of their mobile clinic.

You may have seen the BAARK mobile clinic in your neighborhood. And, if you’re wondering what they’ve been up to, the mobile veterinarian team has been offering free spay and neutering services to dogs and cats across the island.

But, in order to continue their efforts, BAARK Chairman, Laura Kimble says they are once again hosting a major fundraiser.  She says their goal is to raise $100,000 at this year’s golf tournament.

BAARK has been in operation since 2009, and continues to work with local vets; However, Kimble is stressing the importance of having a mobile clinic.

Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, Clay Sweeting, showing his support, saying, the government is excited to work along with the the company.

Vice President of Consumer and Marketing, at Cable Group of Companies, Amber Carey, says Aliv and CBL are excited to partner with BAARK for a second time.

The golf tournament will be held on Sunday, December 11th at the Ocean Club Golf Club and 124 golfers are expected to participate.
