Bahamas Bowl 2025: Teams Set for Saturday Kickoff

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bowl season in Paradise officially begins – kickoff is Saturday morning for Buffalo Bulls and Liberty Flames as the Bahamas Bowl returns to the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium.

Head coaches from both schools hosted their final press conference ahead of Saturday’s matchup to decide the winner of the prime minister’s trophy.

Both teams head into the matchup at 8-4 on the regular season.

The Bulls out of the Mid-American Conference, previously won the Bahamas Bowl in 2019, and look to add to their bowl history in the first year under Head Coach Pete Lembo.

The Bulls will play in a bowl game for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.

Liberty is making its first trip to The Bahamas, but will appear in its sixth consecutive bowl game since it joined the FBS in 2019.

Liberty is 3-0 all-time against Buffalo with their most recent win last season, 55-27. 

NBA

Bahamians took the court in NBA action on Wednesday night.

Kai Jones scored six points for the Los Angeles Clippers in their 116-98 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma.

Deandre Ayton scored six points and six rebounds in his Portland Trailblazers’ 114-106 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles.

Staying on the west coast, Buddy Hield and Eric Gordon went head to head and both players struggled in the Golden State Warriors’ 139-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Both players scored three points.
