NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The last time The Bahamas and St. Marteen faced off at the Andre Rodgers Stadium, it was in the senior division and St. Maarten got the 8-0 win – well, the juniors promised it would be different this time around, and boy did they deliver on that.

The Bahamas defeated St. Marteen 33-00 last night in the feature game on the opening day of the u-15 Caribbean Baseball Cup.

As dominant as the offense was, Colton Cubbage was just as dominant on the mound and pitched a no hitter with four strikeouts.

Every member of Team Bahamas’ lineup contributed to their 17 hits and 28 rbi.

The offensive outburst also included three home runs and six doubles.

Mario Dean’s two-rbi double got the scoring started for Team Bahamas and Javan Smith followed with a three run – in the park home run to spark a 7-0 lead in the first inning.

The Bahamas also got home runs from Malique Israel and CJ Thompson.

Israel and Khayle Watkins each had three hits, Kaizen Dorsett scored five runs, while Jordan Archer, Israel, Smith and Thompson each collected four RBI.

The Bahamas is back on the field tonight against the U.S. Virgin Islands and will face Cuba tomorrow night.

NCAA Football

One returning champion meets a newcomer to the game – our 2025 Bahamas Bowl matchup is all set.

The Buffalo Bulls out of the Mid-American Conference and the Liberty Flame  out of Conference USA will face off at the Thomas A. Robinson, on January 4.

This is only the second time the bowl has featured two teams with eight or more wins.

The last time Buffalo won eight games – the 2019 season. That was also the year they went on to win the Bahamas Bowl, 31-19 over Charlotte.

The Bulls will play in a bowl game for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.

Liberty is making its first trip to The Bahamas, but will appear in its sixth consecutive bowl game since it joined the FBS in 2019.

Bulls Head Coach Head Pete Lembo led the team to 8-4 in his first year at the helm, whole Flames Head Coach Jamey Chadwell is 21-4 in two seasons at Liberty.

A few tweaks to this year’s game, this will be the first time the Bahamas Bowl has been played in January, and the first time the game has been played on a Saturday.

The Bahamas Bowl is one of 17 bowl games owned and operated by ESPN events.
