NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas was highlighted as an exclusive destination and leader of general aviation in the Caribbean region at this year’s 49th annual Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo.

It is the largest aerospace expo of its kind in the southern U.S. and officials say it attracts nearly 250,000 people.

This year it was held at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in central Florida.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism John Pinder says the tourism ministry has participated for more than 20 years.

Ministry of Tourism and Aviation Permanent Secretary Reginald Saunders stresses the importance of private aviation saying it’s not all about commercial flights.
