NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas has won the bid to host the World Athletics World Relays in 2024, formally known as the IAAF World Relays.

The country hosted the event in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

The announcement was made via Zoom at the 229th World Athletics Council by World Athletics President Lord Sebastian Coe in Rome, Italy.

Back in April Prime Minister Philip Davis said he would make a plea to make The Bahamas the permanent host for the event; there is no word on whether that will be done.

The 2021 event was held in Poland.
