USA – Living on the west coast of the United States, one would not expect to experience a hurricane.

Thankfully, for Malikah Pinder, a Bahamian actress living in California, her years growing up here in The Bahamas helped her prepare.

But what made the experience more unusual, no tropical storm has made landfall in southern California since 1939 and they also experienced a magnitude 5.1 earthquake during the passage of hurricane Hilary.

There were no injuries or significant damage reported since that rare experience, the hashtag “Hurriquake” went viral.
