NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell confirms four Bahamian men are among five people reportedly arrested in the Dominican Republic.

The national border authority of the Dominican Republic, Direccion General de Aduanas, is reporting a plane piloted by two Bahamians landed at the Gregorio Luperon airport with five passengers on board.

Officials say US$ 879,020 was seized after a search of the passengers.

Mitchell says officials on the ground are investigating.
