Bail Denied for Man Accused of March 29 Murder

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of fatally shooting a man as he walked home from a club has made his first court appearance.

Prosecutors have charged 19-year-old Quinton Hart with the March 29 murder of Jaheim Rene, 18.

Hart is accused of shooting Rene multiple times as he walked along McCullough Corner around 2am.

Hart did not have to plead to the murder charge when he stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and the matter is expected to be sent transferred to the Supreme Court on July 3 with the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
