BANGLADESH – Bangladesh’s President dissolved parliament on Tuesday, clearing the way for new elections after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country amid violent protests against her rule.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin also ordered the release of opposition leader Khaleda Zia from house arrest.

Hasina fled to India, creating a power vacuum and raising concerns about the country’s stability.

Meanwhile, the military reportedly reshuffled senior positions, and student protesters vowed to prevent a military-backed government.
