The Bahamas has been drawn into Group B alongside Puerto Rico, Canada, and Jamaica.

They begin with Canada on Friday in the first game of a home-and-away series.

To keep their World Cup dream alive, Team Bahamas must finish in the top three in Group B to advance to the second round. From there, the top seven nations across the Americas will earn their ticket to the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar.

Buddy Hield, Warriors Snap Losing Streak

Buddy Hield’s big game lifted the Golden State Warriors to a much-needed win.

Hield turned in his best performance of the season Monday night, dropping a season-high twenty points to help lift the Warriors to a 134–117 win over the Utah Jazz.

He shot eight for fifteen from the field, four for eight from three, helping the Warriors end a three-game losing streak.

Injury Updates for Bahamian NBA Stars

Injuries have sidelined a pair of Bahamian pros in the NBA.

V.J. Edgecombe will miss his second straight game of the season after the Philadelphia 76ers ruled him out against the Orlando Magic tonight with left calf tightness.

Team officials say the decision is precautionary for the rookie guard, who has started every game this season and logged heavy minutes early. He continues to be evaluated day-to-day.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, the Lakers will also be shorthanded.

Deandre Ayton has been ruled out of Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers with a right knee contusion.

Ayton suffered the injury in Sunday’s game against Utah after a collision with rookie Ace Bailey and did not return after halftime. Head Coach J.J. Redick confirmed Ayton was limping before exiting, and the team is expected to reassess his condition later this week.
