DELAWARE, UNITED STATES – Former U.S. President Joe Biden told reporters on Friday that he is “optimistic” following the announcement from his office that he has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone.

Despite the seriousness of the diagnosis, Biden assured the public that “the prognosis is good,” sharing that he will begin treatment soon and that his family remains “upbeat.”

During a Memorial Day service in Delaware, Biden delivered a heartfelt message of unity and remembrance. He paid tribute to his late son, Beau Biden, and called for Americans to come together, regardless of political affiliation.

“Our troops don’t wear a uniform that says I’m a Democrat or I’m a Republican; it says I’m an American,” Biden said during the solemn ceremony.

The former president’s announcement comes as a surprise to many, but his determination and spirit continue to resonate with supporters and citizens across the country.
