NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The blood bank at Princess Margaret Hospital is in critical need of blood.

A pint of blood can be a precious gift to those in need of the lifesaving fluid, and that is why officials at the public hospital’s blood bank are appealing for year-round donations.

Blood Bank Supervisor, Mario Williams says any healthy person aged 16 and older, can donate.

Williams says knowing your blood type beforehand isn’t a requirement, and for most people, the process to donate is a simple half hour process.
