CURAÇAO – The Bahamas is sending a squad to Curaçao to play in the CONCACAF U-15 Boys Championship next week.

The 5th edition of the tournament will feature 38 teams from throughout the Americas and Saudi Arabia, all battling to prove who’s best.

The young Junkanoo boys will compete in round-robin play first, taking on Bonaire on Monday, Dominica Tuesday, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday.

Winning the group outright will catapult Team Bahamas straight into the semifinals. But if they fall short, they’ll face a sudden-death match for a shot at the knockout rounds.

NY Liberty loses to Connecticut Sun

The Liberty’s bid to break their streak fell short as they lost to the Connecticut Sun 78-62.

JJ finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty with 23 points and 7 rebounds.

Marina Mabrey had 18 points and 8 assists for the Sun in a balanced attack with at least 4 players scoring at least 15 points.

The Sun locked in on defense as well, holding New York to under 34% shooting from the field and 22% from long range.
