BRAZIL – Penile cancer, though rare, is rising globally, with Brazil having one of the highest incidence rates.

Between 2012 and 2022, there were 21,000 reported cases, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Health, with more than 4,000 deaths and 6,500 amputations.

Global health officials say HPV and poor hygiene are key risk factors.
