NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On Saturday Our News attended an event hosted by a famed development consultancy company to promote the mental and physical wellness of their employees both at the office and at home.

“Win as a team for us it’s very important that it’s not just a team internally but our families play a big role in that we want to ensure that what ever we’re doing internally as company that it extends to our family if you’re not well at home then you’re not going to be well at the job.”

That’s senior director of human resources and administration at Bron Ltd. Tonya Bethel, sharing the inspiration behind Bron’s family and friends fun, run walk.

Employees and their guests were greeted with cool beverages and smoothies provided by Bron’s partners.

For the kids in attendance, there was a bouncing castle and an arcade cage basketball game, all before 7am on Saturday morning.

Participants had the option of running or walking, for 3 miles, within the airport industrial park.

Breakfast was also provided on the other side of the finish line.

Participants also had the option to get a massage by Body Language Bahamas right before they jumped in the line for a zumba workout.

Now may is mental health awareness month and bethel tells me they wanted to ensure the team is incorporating wellness into their entire life.

Human Resource Administrator Gabrielle Conliffe, echoing those sentiments.

She says it’s all a part of the company’s mandate.

“It’s a three sixty type of thing where as they’re investing in us physically mentally making sure that we are well as individuals not just focusing on what we produce on the job but making sure that as people we’re good.”
