Buddy and The Pacers Get Inched out By Lebron and The Lakers

Hield Has 14, Pacers Lose to the Lakers by One

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, USA – Buddy Hield went 5 for 11 from the field Thursday night, but I would bet any amount of money that he would have liked to have made one more because his Indiana Pacers lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 112-111 on the Pacers’ home court in Indianapolis.

Hield scored 14 points with 5 rebounds while making 2 of 5 three-pointers.

The game went great for the Pacers early as they took a 14-point lead early in the 2nd quarter. This blowout became a dogfight in the 4th quarter when the Lakers took a 108-106 lead with 2:35 left in the game on a Lebron James 3. Buddy would come right back with a 3 of his own to reclaim the lead for the Pacers.

The teams would go back and forth until the very end when Anthony Davis hit an absurdly difficult “Dirk” fadeaway to give the game its final score. He followed that up with a clutch block on Tyrese Haliburton to preserve LA’s lead.

Haliburton, who was named to his very first All-Star Game led the Pacers in scoring and assists with 26 and 12. Myles Bridges had 20 points and 13 rebounds and Aaron Nesmith had 24 points.

Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 31 points and a monstrous 14 boards. Lebron scored 26 points, leaving him 63 away from surpassing Kareem Abdul Jabaar’s all-time scoring record. He also had 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

The Pacers are in a miserable stretch right now, having lost 4 straight games and 11 of their last 12.

Hopefully, they can get back on track against Hield’s former team, the Sacramento Kings tonight.
