Buddy Hield Traded for the Second Time in the Same Week

UNITED STATES – Buddy Hield is headed to Chicago after being traded for Rob Dillingham, marking another move for the Eight Mile Rock native as he looks to rebound from a down season.

UNITED STATES – According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, Hield was sent to the Windy City yesterday in a straight-up trade for Rob Dillingham.

You may have missed it, but on Tuesday, the 33-year-old NBA shooting guard was sent from Atlanta to Charlotte along with point guard Ryan Nembhard and cash in return for Dorian Finney-Smith.

Now he’s gone before he even had a chance to move to Charlotte. He was traded for 21-year-old guard Rob Dillingham.

The trade was executed by new Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham, who was a part of the scouting team that initially drafted Buddy in 2015 in New Orleans.

Hield is coming off a season where his production took a sharp decline.

He played 16 minutes per game, averaging 7.6 points on 43% from the field and 34% from range, down from his career averages of 14 points and 39% from three.

His struggles prompted a trade from Golden State to Atlanta last year. But he has shown in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers that he is still an extremely capable player.

Hopefully, a move to the house that Jordan built can help the shooting guard from Eight Mile Rock remember who he is.

Prince Strachan recorded his first catch for the University of West Virginia Mountaineers in their 41-24 loss to Oklahoma State.

The loss was their first of the season, and Strachan’s catch was one of only 10 total completions from quarterback Michael Hawkins, who opted to do most of his work on the ground, running 28 times for 103 yards. Running back Cam Cook had 29 rushes for 194 yards as well.

The 6’5″ receiver from Grand Bahama missed the first two games of the Mountaineers’ season with an injury that he suffered in camp before seeing limited action in last week’s win against Virginia, where he was not targeted.

His injuries cost him snaps during the out-of-conference portion of West Virginia’s schedule, where teams have an opportunity to work their kinks out against inferior competition.

Now that they are in conference, there will be no Saturdays off. Prince has to be ready to hit the turf full speed.
