NASSAU , BAHAMAS – ALIV employees came together for the company’s annual fundraiser, where the main attraction was the chance to dunk their boss, with proceeds supporting the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group.

The annual fundraiser has become a company tradition, bringing employees together for a little fun while raising money for the organization.

ALIV CEO John Gomez says the cause is personal for many, with breast cancer affecting families, friends and colleagues.

“We have mothers, we have sisters, we have wives that are impacted. We have colleagues who are impacted by breast cancer, so it’s important, whether from a corporate perspective or as an individual, such as a male, because these people touch our lives every day.”

Gomez says the effort must go beyond awareness to provide meaningful support for those affected by the disease.

“Not just from an awareness perspective, but from a support perspective.”

He says the fundraiser is one way to stand with those affected while giving back to the wider community.

And while the event brought plenty of laughs, Gomez also found himself on the receiving end of the fun when he was dunked.

“At the same time, by having fun, we’re also contributing and giving back to the community as well.”

Asked if he expected to be dunked, Gomez replied:

“No, I wasn’t. I’m going to remember that, but it’s fun, it’s fun.”

The annual fundraiser combines entertainment with a meaningful cause, helping support the work of the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group and those impacted by breast cancer.
