GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahamians gathered for a candlelight vigil earlier this month honoring those affected by kidney disease.

The event, held in observance of World Kidney Day remembered loved ones lost, while raising awareness about the ongoing fight against the illness.

Organizers say the Kidney Center in Freeport currently treats about 140 patients making it the largest facility of its kind in the country.

They’re urging the public to stay informed and continue supporting those impacted by the disease.
