Captains Named At First Official Swim Team Practice

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The 36-member 2025 CARIFTA team wasted no time hitting the pool at the Betty Kelly Kenning Aquatics Center early Saturday morning for their first official team practice.

Team Bahamas is going in as the defending champs hoping to capture their seventh consecutive swim title.

First order of business, naming the team captains, done by Head Coach Travano McPhee.

The captains are Mia Patton, Tia-Isabella Adderley, Elle Theberge, William Farrington, Caden Wells and Ayrton Moncur.

We spoke to four of the six just before their Saturday afternoon practice.

Coach Travano also spoke to us about the prospects of and the goal for Team Bahamas.

Twelve members of the team are also training in Grand Bahama under the guidance of assistant coach Jasmine Gibson.

The team will head off for the Easter weekend to defend their title in Trinidad and Tobago.
