NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Seven families will get a helping hand, after battling the worst kind of loss during the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to Cable Bahamas Group of Companies and some of its partners.

Berthony McDermott reports.

The Cable Bahamas Group of Companies (CBL) is partnering with local non-governmental organizations to assist seven families.

Bahamas Harvest Church, Lowes Wholesale Limited, Island Pay Limited, Coco-Cola, and RF Bank & Trust raised $20,000 for the families.

Among those being helped are children who lost their parents during the pandemic.

Corporate partners have also committed to providing jobs to those children.

The ‘Hope for All Seasons’ initiative is an extension of the ‘Hope for the Holidays’ campaign, launched in December 2021.

Under the initiative, the families were provided christmas trees, gifts, appliances, and electronics to those families.

CBL CEO Franklyn Butler says, “It feels good to do good.”

According to Mario Moxey, Bahamas Harvest Church senior pastor, the money will be placed on Island Pay accounts and distributed to the families on a monthly basis.

They will also be given double coupons through Super Value’s Quality Stamp rewards program.

Butler says this is just the start of community initiatives to come.
