Man Accused of Murdering Mother-of-Three No Longer Appealing Bail Decision

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man accused in the brazen shooting death of a young mother holding her newborn baby is dropping his fight for bail.

Mario Stuart, charged with the January 26th, 2025 murder of 23-year-old Philaeria Sands is no longer appealing a judge’s decision to keep him behind bars awaiting trial.

Police say Sands was sitting in a parked Honda Fit on Finlayson Street cradling her days-old baby when gunmen opened fire. She did not survive.

Prosecutors have also charged Davan Brennen in connection with the killing.
