UNITED STATES – Celebrity chef and beloved Food Network personality Anne Burrell has died at the age of 55 at her home in New York.

Burrell rose to fame as a sous chef on Iron Chef America and later became the host of a Restaurant Chef and Worst Cooks in America.

She was a graduate of both Canisius College and the Culinary Institute of America and also trained in Italy and worked at renowned Manhattan restaurants before turning to television.

Her series earned multiple Emmy nominations, and she authored two popular cookbooks.
