UNITED STATES – Devynne Charlton, the 60-metre hurdles world record holder, is helping to develop the next generation of sprint hurdlers in The Bahamas.

Charlton hosted a free clinic Saturday at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, giving young athletes the chance to learn from the three-time World Indoor Champion.

The initiative, through her Barrier Breakers Foundation, focuses on building skills, confidence and opportunities for young Bahamian athletes.

The outreach continues this Saturday, October 17, with the next clinic set for Preston H. Albury High School in Rock Sound, Eleuthera.

WNBA

Bahamian star Jonquel Jones delivered a dominant performance in the WNBA semifinals, but it was not enough to keep the New York Liberty’s season alive.

Jones averaged 19.7 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks per game against the Atlanta Dream, including a 26-point, 14-rebound and three-block performance in the Liberty’s season-ending 85-83 loss in Game Three.

The defeat capped a turbulent season for New York, which finished the regular season 26-18 before upsetting the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx in the first round and getting swept by Atlanta in the semifinals.

First-year head coach Chris DeMarco now faces questions about his future after a campaign marked by injuries, inconsistency and critical late-game decisions.

While DeMarco has indicated he expects to return next season, the Liberty’s star players have stopped short of publicly endorsing his return, leaving the franchise with important questions to answer this offseason.

MLB

Bahamian MLB star Jazz Chisholm Jr. is reflecting on his time with the New York Yankees as questions surround his future with the franchise he grew up supporting.

In 2026, Chisholm hit .231 with 19 home runs, 55 RBIs and 41 stolen bases.

Since joining New York in July 2024, he has earned an All-Star selection and a Silver Slugger Award. His biggest statement came in 2025, when he hit 31 home runs and stole 31 bases to record his first career 30-30 season.

Chisholm has expressed his desire to remain a Yankee, but with his future uncertain, the next chapter of his career remains to be seen.
